Raising awareness of violence against women and children

Supported by DIME, Casa Vida's Social Work team continues its community awareness work across the districts, holding outreach sessions twice a month. The team meets with local communities and students in schools to raise awareness of violence against women and children and to promote safer environments.

During the sessions, the team introduces Casa Vida, its mission, and the support it provides to women and children affected by violence. The sessions focus on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), the different forms of violence that women and children may experience, and some of the factors that can contribute to violence.

Participants learn how to recognize possible signs of abuse and why prevention, early identification, and appropriate support matter. The team also shares information about organizations and services that provide protection and support, including their contact numbers.

At schools, students have the opportunity to discuss violence, personal safety, and how to respond when they or someone they know may be at risk of abuse. The sessions help students understand where they can seek help and how they can support safer environments for themselves and others.

Through these regular community and school outreach sessions, Casa Vida continues to promote awareness and prevention and to connect women and children with available protection and support services.
